My work with Privafy began in August 2019, 18 months after the company's founding. I started collaborating directly with the Vice President of Marketing, with whom I had previously worked in a similar capacity at several other organizations.
When I joined Privafy, the company mark (logo) had already been created, and an outside public relations and marketing firm had built and maintained the company's website.
considerations
• Privafy maintains a very conservative marketing budget. As a designer, I had limited time for exploration. I had to adopt a lean and efficient approach for every project. Time efficiency was essential.
• As Privafy is an organization driven by engineers, it was often necessary to translate complex sketches and basic PowerPoint presentations into schematics that were easily understood by the general public.
• As new projects emerged, a system that reinforced and maintained the overall visual brand was essential.
One of my initial tasks was to develop and document the corporate graphic standards. These guidelines cover the appropriate and inappropriate uses of the company logo, color palette, typography, and more. The guidelines are stored on the company's extranet and updated regularly as new projects arise and revisions become necessary.
As Privafy expanded and introduced new products and cybersecurity solutions, creating a unified visual system became essential to represent and communicate the company’s brand effectively.
